The Conservatory is designed as a balance between structure and nature—clean steel lines softened by dense greenery. A muted grey framework allows the vegetation to take visual focus, creating a calm, immersive environment rooted in contrast.
Planting becomes central to the design, with over 40 species carefully selected for Mumbai’s tropical climate. Layered vegetation—ranging from dense leafy greens to canopy-forming trees—controls light and heat under the glass roof, while fragrant plants subtly enhance the sensory experience.
The space is planned to feel dense at the entry, gradually opening up as one moves upward, creating a sense of lightness beneath the glass ceiling. A strong emphasis on symmetry and proportion—through evenly spaced vertical elements—echoes the rhythm of traditional conservatory frames, while lighting plays a key role in shaping the mood throughout.
