The first time we visited August Café, we immediately felt a sense of warmth and comfort. The owners and their product naturally created a welcoming atmosphere—one that felt like it could become part of a daily routine. However, the connection between the brand and its physical space was missing, which became the starting point for our design approach.
We built the design language using the brand’s earthy red, complemented by whites, blacks, and soft greys. The vision was to create a comforting tea-space reminiscent of the hills. Wooden window frames, backyard-style outdoor flooring, and an open-air area with beige and red checkered tiles bring warmth and familiarity. The palette subtly reflects the tones of freshly brewed tea.
Our goal was to create a space that feels fresh, comforting, and part of everyday life. The coffee counter is highlighted with an arched ceiling and finished with small red tiles and statement lighting. Bright, cheerful lighting enhances the overall vibe, while thoughtful details—like playful typography in the washroom—add character, making the space feel both personal and memorable.
